Financing Resources

The following links will connect you to either financing or business planning assistance. Links to programs offered through state departments of agriculture are not listed below. Each state office provides different types of business management assistance and financing or grant programs. Check with your department of agriculture for additional information.

- Cooperative Fund of New England provides loans to all types of cooperatives.

- Cornell University's Small Farm Program business management resource is helpful for planning and managing your business.

Farm Credit is the largest ag lender in the Northeast. They have offices that cover all parts of New York and New England. Some offices have a program called Farm Start to assist beginning farmers.

- Growing New Farmers provides a comphrehensive searchable database for different types of technical assistance and financing programs. This directory is applicable to farmers throughout the Northeast new and old.

- NOFA-VT offers farmer financing resources.

- Resource Guide for Vermont's New and Aspiring Farmers

USDA's Farm Service Agency is the federal government's lender that works with farmers who can not get loans from a commercial bank.
